HSEQ employs professionals in a wide range of roles focused on health, safety, environment, and quality assurance. The HSEQ department ensures compliance with regulations, company standards, and continuous improvement practices. The team works in close collaboration with production to support safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.

 HSEQ includes diverse roles such as quality coordinators, HSEQ engineers, and test engineers. In blue-collar roles, employees contribute as quality inspectors within production. Daily responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, performing safety walks, auditing processes, and monitoring environmental performance. In quality-related tasks, the team is involved in supplier audits, material inspections, and internal audits to ensure consistent quality standards throughout the value chain. A strong focus is placed on the continuous improvement of safety and working practices. The team is also responsible for maintaining documentation, reporting, and ensuring that corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.

  • For blue-collar roles, relevant education and/or work experience
  • For white-collar roles, relevant technical education and work experience in quality management or HSE roles

A designer is responsible for a wide variety of duties related to module and component design, including exploring new alternatives and providing the procurement department with technical specifications.

Designers may specialize in electrical, HVAC, automation, interior, DFM, or structural design. The job content for R&D personnel includes concepting, technical development, and scheduling for new solutions. Testing personnel concentrate on testing, test method development, and test equipment design for materials, components, structures, and end products throughout the development process.

The Project Management department is responsible for managing module projects for moving platforms. Project managers lead individual projects, overseeing costs, schedules, quality, and customer communication throughout the project lifecycle. During the last phases of the projects, project managers are supported by the Site Manager, who coordinates project completion. The Warranty Manager handles warranty matters after delivery.

Piikkio Works purchases a wide variety of products and services, and procurement scopes are highly diverse. The procurement department is responsible for purchasing technical solutions, components and services. The primary role of the procurement department is to cooperate with other departments and focus on overall costs. 
The procurement department places thousands of orders each year, ranging from small regular orders to single orders of extremely high value.

The procurement department ensures timely deliveries and material availability in accordance with production needs. The department holds full responsibility for the commercial and legal aspects of our procurement agreements. 
The buyers in this department are responsible for procurements in their own product area throughout the process, cooperating closely with the design department.

Logistics department is responsible for precision tasks related to receiving and storing materials and picking them to specific workstations. The logistics department also manages the on-site operations and material flow at the shipyard. Logistics includes a variety of operational roles, such as warehouse workers, forklift drivers, and other transport machinery operators. 

Supervisory work in logistics involves leading and developing warehouse functions and the flow of internal logistics, and managing the cabin warehousing. Logistics engineers and specialists are tasked with developing the logistics processes and managing external warehouses as well as handling the life cycle materials to shipowners around the world.

Production employs professionals from skilled assembly work to supervisory positions of varying degrees of responsibility. Piikkio Works has assembly and preassembly processes in the production department and each process works under a separate supervisor. Production includes a variety of operational roles, such as element assemblers, quality inspectors and electricians.

Department engineers assist the department manager in various development-related assignments. Production supervisors' duties are to be administrative, operational, and developmental. The manager is responsible for leading the whole assembly department. Manager supervises, guides, and monitors operations concerning process, scheduling, and production quality.
